Behind the scenes

I liked 'Observations' when I first heard it. I loved 'She Owns the Streets' when it came out. So I have been looking forward to the new album, Observator, by The Raveonettes.

Tonight I saw the first part of Making of 'Observator'. It is a behind the scenes video narrated by Sune Rose Wagner. What a lovely mood it got me into. Too bad I will have to wait some three weeks before the album is out, I kind of want to listen to it now.

Here are the lovely videos for 'Observations' and 'She Owns the Streets':

Wildbirds & Peacedrums

I have recently spent some time in my old home town in the northern part of Sweden. Whilst being there I went to the small, one day festival Broöppning! on August 4. It is truly a small festival. For one evening/night some interesting bands play different stages at the island of Härnö, an island on which a great part of the town Härnösand is situated. This year the Cathedral had been added as one stage of four, and I believe the total tickets sold were 900.

I saw lovely performances by Anna Järvinen, Frida Hyvönen, Deportees and Loney Dear.
Deportees

Then I stumbled upon something new that I had not heard before. It was the duo Wildbirds & Peacedrums. Their music just hit me as I witnessed their powerful gig at St Petri Logen.

Here is the song 'Bleed like there was no other flood'  by Wildbirds & Peacedrums:

Ceremony

This is amazing! No surprise that critics celebrate Anna von Hausswolff's new album 'Ceremony'. It's beautiful music that gives me a lovely feeling inside.

Atoms for Peace

Take a good song and add some nice sounds. Does it get better? Not always, but this is good. This remix of Other Lives' 'Tamer Animals', done by Atoms for Peace (i.e. Thom Yorke, Flea, Nigel Godrich) is really good. Just listen to this:

Heaven Is Here

This is the third version of 'Heaven Is Here' that I hear, and I think this might be number one for me. Listen to this acoustic version that Artmagic recorded for XFM.

The other versions are to be found on the EP 'I Keep on Walking' and on the album 'Become the One You love'. Find them here.
